Of all the people God has allowed me to witness to before He saved them, Bruce had to be my favorite. Six people I had not known, one I have known for the last 2 years, but Bruce, I have know since 1988 as a customer. He is 92 years old now and his wife passed away the first part of the year. He told me he had lost his will to live. He said since his wife had died he missed making her mad. I was around them enough to know she liked him to aggravate her. Bruce lived the dream I dreamed of as a kid. Flying a B-17 Bomber. Of course by the time I was born in 1960 the B-17 was no longer flying. But a kid can still dream right? He told me that he was in when Pearl Harbor happened and ended up escorting ships from the Carribean down the South America coast before they turned to head towards Africa. He told me he only got to drop one bomb during the war. While flying escort they saw the silhouette of a sub in the water following one of the ships. They dropped a big bomb on it and circled to see if they were successful. Eventually a whale surfaced for air before going back under to continue his way. He just laughed about it. But he told me he was ready to go. He has all the aches and pains of a 92 year old and life was no fun anymore. But I had to ask him the question. Do you know where you will spend eternity. His answer was no. After explaining what it takes to get saved, he asked Jesus to be His saviour. I don't know how much longer he has to live, but he said he had a peace in his heart that he was gonna live forever in Heaven with Jesus. Today was a great day.
