A cup of water that is overflowing spills on those around it.
A Christian overflowing with Jesus spills onto those around.
Be an overflowing cup of water today and spill the love of Jesus on someone.

Has someone spilt Jesus on you this week?
A good thought, but I don't know if the word "spill" is the right word for the impact that Christians are supposed to have on the lost world. The word "spill" sounds too much like an accident. But, Jesus said that for those who have believed in Him, out of them will flow rivers of living water. The words "rivers" and "flow" seem to indicate a purpose.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you that the word "spill" seems to sound like an accident. Our actions should be purposeful, but there are times when we do things to bless others without thinking. This is the overflow that I am thinking about. And it could be the rivers flowing that you speak of. I think of the story of the woman with an issue of blood that touched the garment of Jesus and was healed. I think of carrying a bucket that is full to the brim. It is hard not to spill a drop. We should be so in touch with God, that as we are talking with someone, even about business, we can sense if something is going on in their lives and offer an encouraging word, prayer or even share the Gospel with them. And there are times when we should make it a point of being purposeful in our approach to others. I do like your point though. Thanks and God Bless
